Water Biofuels Postdoctoral position 2013 United States

Assess water resource availability and evaluate potential environmental impacts of large-scale fuel development on water, as part of an effort to address the sustainability of fuel and energy development in the United States. Assess water resource availability in a national, regional, and sub-regional scale, simulate and/or modeling water flow and stocks to determine water balance, develop water footprint for fuels, analyze effects of management programs and operations for potential water conservation, develop watershed modeling, conduct analysis/modeling for impacts of future development scenarios on water quality.

Considerable knowledge in watershed modeling, water chemistry, and water sustainability. Considerable knowledge in watershed management in agricultural systems. Considerable knowledge of energy and environmental impacts of fuel production. Considerable knowledge of energy and environmental impacts of fuel production and use. Considerable skills and experience in computer modeling using ArcGIS, SWAT, Crystal Ball, and Excel. Considerable quantitative skills to processing large quantities of hydrological data and analyzing, interpreting and aggregating diverse water and energy data of fuel production to convey trends in results.

Good skills time management and in working within a team environment. Good skills in oral and written communications.

The postdoctoral position is limited to 3 years.

Postdoc positions require completion of a PhD within the past three years.
