Postdoc position for Young neuroscientists 2013 - Spain

Young neuroscientists (PhD between 1/1/2003 and 31/12/2010) are encouraged to apply through the Ikerbasque Research Fellow 2013 Call to join the Neural Stem Cell and Neurogenesis Lab in the north of Spain (www.ikerbasque.net). Ikerbasque, the Basque Foundation for Science recruits top scientists internationally every year, offering positions to senior scientist and junior researchers. The Research Fellow position offers a 5-year contract with the possibility of opting to a permanent position in the 4th year.
The ideal candidate must have a strong background and publishing record in neuroscience, preferentially in the neural stem cell/neurogenesis field. The candidate will be expected to develop her/his own projects and train students. Expertise in imaging and/or electrophysiology will be much appreciated.


My laboratory focuses in the activation of adult hippocampal neural stem cells and the process of neurogenesis, and how they are affected by aging and neuronal activity, especially in pathological situations such as epilepsy
