Post‐doctoral position to study prostate cancer biology 2013 - United States

Post‐doctoral position available in prostate cancer biology.
University Of Rochester School Of Medicine Rochester, NY
Postdoctoral associate positions are available immediately in the Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine in the laboratory of Drs. John Krolewski and Kent Nastiuk to investigate molecular mechanisms that control growth and apoptosis in normal, hyperplaplastic, and neoplastic prostate.  Our laboratory has identified key signals regulating prostate apoptosis (see http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/18719361 and http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/21292828) and the scientist will further define this cytokine network as well as extend the results to animal models of prostate cancer and benign prostatic hyperplasia using a wide array of in vivo and in vitro approaches.  Additional opportunities exist to develop nanoparticle-based therapeutics and advanced imaging modalities.
Applicants must possess a PhD, MD, or MD, PhD and research experience in molecular signal transduction, as evidenced by first author publications.  Experience in prostate biology and with animal models of  is highly preferred.  Pre-existing legal ability to work in North America is also highly preferred.  The post-doctoral appointment is one year with possible renewal for additional years based on performance and funding availability.
Qualified candidates should provide a cover letter, CV, and contact information for three professional references. To apply, please send all application materials electronically to:  Dr. Kent Nastiuk
