Cancer drug delivery Postodoctoral Position 2013 - United States

One postdoctoral position is immediately available in the Gill Laboratory in the field of cancer drug delivery. Gill laboratory is located at Texas Tech University in the Department of Chemical Engineering. The candidate should be highly motivated and should have experience in cancer research. Experience with head and neck tumors is preferred. Prior experience in inducing orthotopic tumors, performing drug efficacy studies using an animal model, and invivo imaging of tumors is desirable. Qualified candidate must have a PhD degree in engineering, biomedical engineering/sciences, immunology, microbiology, or pharmaceutical sciences.

Salary will be commensurate with experience and includes full benefits. The position is for a year, which can be renewed based on performance and availability of funds.

The project is aimed at developing microneedles as a novel tool for targeted drug delivery to tumors. The postdoctoral fellow will have the opportunity to learn microneedle coating technique. The approach will then be used to deliver anti-cancer drugs to tumors to evaluate therapeutic effectiveness in animal models.
