Vaccinology/ Immunoengineering - Postdoctoral Position 2013 USA

Two postdoctoral positions are immediately available in the Gill Laboratory in the field of Vaccinology/Immunoengineering. Gill laboratory is located at Texas Tech University in the Department of Chemical Engineering. The candidates should be highly motivated and should have experience in vaccinology/immunology. Experience with immunological assays such as ELISAs, measurement of T-cell responses, and mucosal immunity is preferred. Prior experience working with animals is a plus. Qualified candidates must have a PhD degree in engineering, biomedical engineering/sciences, immunology, microbiology, or pharmaceutical sciences.

Salary will be commensurate with experience and includes full benefits. The positions are for a year, which can be renewed based on performance and availability of funds.

The project is aimed at developing pollen grains as a novel platform for oral vaccination and will involve formulation characterization, and investigation of systemic and mucosal immune responses in vivo. The successful candidates will have the opportunity to be creative and to contibute seminal work to the development of a novel system for oral vaccination.
