Postdoctoral position in the field of influenza vaccines 2013 - USA

One postdoctoral position is immediately available in the Gill Laboratory in the field of influenza vaccines. Gill laboratory is located at Texas Tech University in the Department of Chemical Engineering. The candidate should be highly motivated and should have experience in vaccinology/immunology. Experience with immunological assays such as ELISAs, measurement of T-cell responses, and mucosal immunity is preferred. Prior experience working in influenza vaccine development and animals is a plus. Qualified candidate must have a PhD degree in engineering, biomedical engineering/sciences, immunology, microbiology, or pharmaceutical sciences.

Salary will be commensurate with experience and includes full benefits. The position is for a year, which can be renewed based on performance and availability of funds.

The project is aimed at developing nanoparticles as a platform for creating a universal influenza vaccine and will involve nanoparticle development and characterization, and investigation of systemic and mucosal immune responses in vivo.
