The DZNE is a center of excellence within the Helmholtz Association that performs translational research on Neurodegenerative Diseases. The center includes nine high-performing sites in Bonn, Berlin, Dresden, Göttingen, Magdeburg, Munich, Rostock/Greifswald, Tübingen and Witten.

Project description
In a collaborative project funded by the Centres of Excellence in Neurodgeneration (COEN) an in depth characterization of AD-transgenic rats will be carried out. Two photon in vivo imaging and electrophysiology will be carried out to analyze network dysfunction of neurons in AD transgenic rats.

Qualifications and experience
Successful candidates (f/m) should hold a PhD in biology, biochemistry, chemistry, biophysics or related disciplines. As a prerequisite the candidate should have experience with rats, a plus would be electrophysiology or imaging skills. Creative, highly motivated applicants who are willing to develop new techniques and enjoy working independently, as well as a team member in a stimulating scientific environment are encouraged to apply.
