Postdoctoral position in biomedical engineering 2013 USA

The Non-conventional ventilatory team (NVT) at the Department of Biomedical Technology, Czech Technical University in Prague, is a research group interested in all aspects of mechanical ventilation including theoretical analyses, modeling, design of respiratory care equipment, animal experiments, and clinical trials. Currently, we are focusing on High Frequency Oscillatory Ventilation (HFOV), Electrical Impedance Tomography (EIT) and heliox administration in respiratory care.
We seek a full-time postdoctoral researcher to join our team who will contribute to our ongoing projects on HFOV and EIT, and will develop new research directions. The primary work will involve experimental data processing and analysis, and design and management of animal experiments. The successful candidate is also expected to write journal and conference papers and mentor graduate and undergraduate students.

Minimum qualifications:
Ph.D. in biomedical engineering or a related field completed after March 29, 2008. At least one published paper indexed in Web of Science. Excellent English communication skills. Experience with biomedical signal processing and analysis.

Preferred qualifications:
Strong publication record. Good software programming skills in Matlab, C, or similar. Background in one or more of the following areas: respiratory care, biomedical instrumentation, statistics, fluid mechanics, or control engineering.

Salary and project duration:
56 000 CZK, i.e. approx. 2200 EUR, per month
The position is open starting July 2013 with duration until June 30, 2015.
