My work focuses on the formation of episodic memory through a multi-disciplinary approach combining optogenetics, network modelling, field and single-unit recording and stimulation techniques in behaving rodents. I will investigate how the structures processing the information between striatum and hippocampus integrate motor, sensory and intrinsic signals within theta cycle and how this integration supports hippocampal memory function.
A successful candidate should have the following qualifications:
- background in systems and/or computational neuroscience
- experience in electrophysiological recordings (preferentially in behaving rodents)
- programming skills (e.g., Matlab)
- a promising publication record
To apply, please send C.V. statement of research interests, and names of 2-3 referees to tsanovm@tcd.ie.
