Postdoctoral position Chemical Biology 2013 - USA

A postdoctoral position available immediately to develop small molecule modulators of chaperone-mediated autophagy and their application in neurodegenerative diseases and cancer. The successful candidate will work in Dr. Evris Gavathiotis’ and Dr. Ana Maria Cuervo’ laboratories and benefit from innovative, interdisciplinary, and collaborative research that spans different stages of drug discovery process and aims to develop preclinical candidates. The applicant must have extensive experience in synthetic organic chemistry or medicinal chemistry and be able to independently design, synthesize and analyze results of new analogues for existing lead compounds to develop SAR and improve ADMET properties. Additional expertise in molecular modeling, ADMET optimization methods and cell culture is desirable.

Requirements:

The applicant must have a Ph.D. in a relevant area with a strong publication record demonstrating experience in organic chemistry. We are seeking candidates who are self-motivated, creative, collaborative and have excellent written and verbal communication skills.
