Postdoctoral Position in Structural Biology 2013 UK

n opportunity is available for a postdoctoral researcher to work with Dr Andrew Carter on structural studies of the microtubule motor dynein. The project aims to characterise functionally relevant parts of the cytoplasmic dynein complex in order to understand its motility, regulation and interaction with cargos.
Requirements:
We are looking for an enthusiastic individual who is likely to thrive in a laboratory with a friendly and supportive atmosphere. You should have a PhD in a relevant subject and a desire to to understand dynein’s structure and function. Experience in cryo-electron microscopy (cryo-EM) and/or tomography would be advantageous.
Successful applicants will be awarded a three-year Career Development Fellowship. The fellowship is a training and development position for a post-doctoral scientist who has recently completed their doctoral studies, is moving into a new research discipline or has limited experience of key transferable skills.
