Postdoctoral Fellow in Chemical Biology 2013 USA


A postdoctoral position is available to join an interdisciplinary research group combining molecular modeling, synthetic organic chemistry and cancer biology to develop small molecules as potential anticancer agents. This position is based at the Program in Chemical Biology, Department of Physiology and Pharmacology,OregonHealth & Science University,Portland,Oregon. The candidate will be responsible for the design and synthesis of novel organic compounds as potential anticancer drugs. In addition, the candidate should be capable of analyzing data and writing up of the results into appropriate manuscript form.
Requirements:
The candidate must have extensive research experience in organic synthesis with excellent knowledge in NMR and other spectroscopic methods to characterize small molecules. Additional experience in biology is preferred, but not required. However, the candidate must have a strong interest in chemical biology. A Ph.D. in synthetic organic chemistry, medicinal chemistry or other related discipline is required.
