Postdoctoral Positions in Computational Biology 2013 - Italy

2 PostDoc positions available for three years projects in the lab of Diego di Bernardo for these two EU funded projects:
(1) 7th Framework European Project MODHEP: Modelling HepatoCellular Carcinoma
The general objective of MODHEP is to produce and disseminate the results of a holistic, systems biology-based approach providing an integrated understanding of the multi-layered molecular alterations that drive a complex disease such as cancer. This will pave the way for the development of innovative therapies.
(2) 7th Framework European Project NANOSOL: Systematic investigations of engineered nanomaterial interactions with living systems and/or the environment
The main objective of this research proposal is to identify and elaborate those characteristics of Engineered NanoMaterials (ENM) that determine their biological hazard potential. This potential includes the ability ofENM to induce damage at the cellular, tissue, or organism levels by altering key cellular functions.
Requirements:
For both positions we are looking with candidates with a strong engineering, physics or computer science background with a strong interest in molecular biology and drug discovery. All candidates must have a Ph.D. in a relevant research area. Preference will be given to candidates with previous expertise in Computational Biology, although this is not required.
