There is an immediate opening for a postdoctoral researcher in the Department of Physiology and Biophysics, Universityof Californiaat Irvine. The candidate is expected to carry out mass spectrometry-based proteomic and biochemical approaches to study interactions, structures and posttranslational modifications of protein complexes in the ubiquitin-proteasome system and thus understand the function and regulation of protein complexes during cancer development. The lab is equipped with a LTQ-Orbitrap mass spectrometer (Thermofisher) and several HPLC systems for protein and peptide analysis.  Ph.D. degree in biochemistry, molecular biology, chemistry or related fields is required, and experience in protein expression and purification is preferred. Skills and knowledge in molecular and cell biology, and/or protein and peptide separation will be a plus. Vascular Research Postdoctoral Fellow position 2013 - USA

Post-doctoral Fellow position available at Vascular Research Laboratory, Providence VA Medical Center/Brown University starting Summer 2013.  Applicant should be a US citizen/ permanent resident and eligible for training grant position. Areas of research include (a) RV hypertrophy, fibrosis and function in the setting of pulmonary diseases and (b) endothelial ion channels in pulmonary endothelial function. Applicants with experience in either primary heart cell isolation, molecular biology, and in vivo physiological assessment or cellular electrophysiology and ex-vivo vascular studies are preferred.
