A position for a postdoctoral fellow is immediately available at the Division of Physiology, Medical University Innsbruck (http://physiologie.i-med.ac.at/). This position is part of multidisciplinary projects on experimental pain research (peripheral and central) and it is fully funded for four years (for recent publications see PMID: 23236288, 21074052, 23392686, 19864560).

The ideal candidate should have a strong background in slice electrophysiology (brain or spinal chord) and additional knowledge in molecular biology (qPCR, cloning, optogenetics, heterologous gene expression). He/she will be expected to independently plan and conduct projects, write publications as well as supervise and teach students. We offer a fully established lab with state of the art equipment, supportive working atmosphere and an inspiring scientific environment. Furthermore, support for the acquisition of external funding and for successful completion of the habilitation process will be offered.
