Postdoctoral Position in Chromatin biology - 2013 Switzerland

A postdoctoral position is available in the laboratory of Prof. Filippo Rijli at the Friedrich Miescher Institute for Biomedical Research, Basel, Switzerland http://www.fmi.ch/rijli.f. We investigate the epigenetic and transcriptional mechanisms of neuronal migration and circuit formation in the mouse brainstem. Current work is focusing on the role of chromatin modifications, non-coding RNAs and chromatin 3D structure in the regulation of key processes, such as neuronal fate specification, migration and connectivity in the mouse.

Outstanding candidates holding a recent PhD and interested in this topic as well as having significant expertise in chromatin biology (ChIP-seq, 4C-seq, FISH) are encouraged to apply. Additional background in bioinformatics, mouse genetics, or developmental neurobiology is a plus. The position is fully funded for 2 years. Nonetheless, ideal candidates are expected to have a strong publication record allowing them to apply for competitive external funding.
