A Post-Doctoral Fellow position is immediately available in the Lim lab at the Oklahoma Medical Research Foundation (OMRF) to study novel genes and pathways in cardiac health and disease, using Drosophila as a model system. Specific areas of interest include the roles of reactive oxygen species and lipid/carbohydrate metabolism in modulating cardiac physiology and pathophysiology (see also Genes Dev. 25(2):189-200).
OMRF is an independent, not-for-profit, biomedical research institute adjacent to the campus of the University of Oklahoma Health Sciences Center (OUHSC) in Oklahoma City. OMRF investigators enjoy close scientific interactions with OUHSC faculty and participate in meetings with other fly labs at the University of Oklahoma (Norman campus). OMRF has been selected as #3 in the nation for the best research institutions for post-docs in 2013 by The Scientist journal. Forbes ranks Oklahoma City as one of the most affordable cities in the US based on its economic prosperity, solid job markets, and housing cost. Additional information about OMRF can be found at the Oklahoma Medical Research Foundation web site: https://omrf.org
