Intended projects deal with the function
and biogenesis of prokaryotic membrane and surface proteins. For an
example of recent work see Hartmann et al., PNAS 18:20907-12 (2012). The
position will benefit from collaborations within the framework of
SFB766 „Bacterial Cell Envelope: Structure, Function and Infection
Interface”.
Requirements:
Candidates should have a proven track
record in cellular microbiology (bacteria or archaea), microbial
genetics and molecular biology, and a good background in protein
biochemistry.The positions are initially limited to 2 years, for
suitable candidates an extension with a view towards gaining academic
independence is possible.
