Postdoctoral Position in Computational Biology 2013 Germany

A postdoctoral position in computational biology/chemistry is available in the Stein Lab at the Max-Planck Institute for Dynamics of Complex Technical Systems in Magdeburg(Germany). Our group develops methods and tools to investigate the formation and interaction of biological systems (small molecule-protein and protein-protein complexes). In collaboration with partners these methods will be employed to simulate the adsorption of proteins on electrode surfaces.
Requirements:
We are looking for an experienced and highly motivated co-worker to extend our current research projects in the following fields
kinetics and rates of protein adsorption
development and implementation of algorithms to calculates rates of electron transfer between redox active proteins and electron acceptor partners
application to realistic biological systems in the field of regenerative fuels. The candidate should hold a doctoral degree and have a strong background in at least one of the following fields: computational chemistry, computational biology, computer science, bioinformatics.
The Max-Planck Institute offers excellent research facilities and a stimulating environment. The position is available immediately, initially for one year. Extensions are possible.
How to Apply:
To apply, combine the following documents into one PDF file: cover letter, CV, certificates, short description of scientific achievements (~one page), list of publications, contact information of two references. Send this PDF file as soon as possible by email to matthias.stein@mpi-magdeburg.mpg.de.
